A few days back Priya Prakash Varrier landed in Mumbai and hung out with a few Bollywood celebs. We loved her pics with Vicky Kaushal and Ranveer Singh. The internet was crushing over her. That is until she launched the trailer of her upcoming film, Sridevi Bungalow. The movie looked like a take on the life and death of the legendary actress, Sridevi. A distasteful take, that is. Netizen were quick to call out the trailer, which also garnered more dislikes than likes on YouTube. Today, Priya has talked about the trailer and has defended it in the ongoing controversy.
Priya said, while talking to Times of India, "Sreedevi is just the name of my character in the movie. Who would want to create such controversies? I think the curiosity surrounding the trailer is good and we have to leave it to the audience to judge if the film is based on the veteran actress Sridevi ma'am."
Priya had a similar stand at the trailer launch of Sridevi Bungalow. Just in case you thought the similarities ended at the name of the lead character, we should tell you something. At the end of the trailer, a woman is shown drowned in a bathtub. And despite this obvious similarity to how Sridevi passed away last year.
Sridevi's husband, Boney Kapoor has sent a legal notice to the makers of the movie. Speaking about the same,슬롯 머신 사이트 추천director Prasanth Mambully has said, "In the notice, Boney Kapoor has raised a few objections against our film including the usage of the name and doing a biopic of the actress. He wanted us to alter the name of our movie within 24 hours. We sent him a reply explaining that Sridevi was a common name and there was no logic in objecting to it. It is just a coincidence that my movie tells the tale of an actress named Sridevi."
