On August 27 Karthi announced about this upcoming project, Kaithi. His look in the action thrilled, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj was revealed. But the update that it is going to be released during Diwali was the biggest surprise for all his fans. Karthi would be seen playing the role of a prisoner, as the title suggests. Produced under the banner of Dream Warrior Productions, this film does not have a female lead; it stars actors Narain and George Maryan in key roles.

Sanga Thamizhan

Vijay Sethupathi starrer Sanga Thamizhan is touted to be an action masala entertainer. With Raashi Khanna and Nivetha Pethuraj as the lead actresses, Sethupathi will be seen in dual role for the first time. Directed by Vijay Chandar, this film marks his third directorial project after Vaalu and Sketch, which tanked at the box office. But this time, the expectations are high with Sanga Thamizhan. The film is produced by Bharathi Reddy under Vijaya Productions banner.
