According to reports, the show has been shot in India and foreign locations including Cape Town. Anurag Kashyap has yet again taken charge for Nawazuddin's portions, and Masaan director Neeraj Ghaywan has replaced Vikramaditya Motwane to direct Sartaj Singh's part.

Sacred Games season 1 received wide appreciations and became a popular show overnight. The fans went crazy over the dark and gritty content.
