Despite initially resisting, she complied after threats of imprisonment. When she shared her experience with a neighbour, the neighbour contacted one of the suspects, who admitted, "This woman was a victim of cyber fraud, so please look after her." After this, the fraudster ended the call, and all the phone numbers he used were turned off. The Naranpura police have filed charges against the unknown suspects under several sections of the law for creating fake documents, forgery, cheating, extortion, impersonating a public servant, and criminal conspiracy.
