The project involves dismantling an old, dilapidated main water channel from Pali Hill Reservoir 1 and installing a new 750-millimeter diameter main water line between Ramdas Naik Marg and Route No. 32 on Patkar Marg. Mumbai Water Cut on August 30: List of Affected Areas

  • Perry Circle: Including parts of Bandra West, Varoda Marg, Hill Road, Manual Gonsalves Marg, Pali Gaothan, Kantwadi, and Sherly Rajan Marg (usual water supply timings: 10 am to 2 pm).
  • Khar Danda Area: Including Khar Danda Koliwada, Dandpada, Chuim Gaonthan, part of Khar West, and part of Gajdarbandh slum (usual water supply timings: 5:30 am to 8:30 pm).
  • Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marg: Including areas adjoining Babasaheb Ambedkar Marg, Pais Pali Gaonthan, Pali Plateau, and parts of Khar West (usual water supply timings: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm).

Residents in these locations are advised to stockpile water in advance and use it sparingly during the disruption period. The BMC has assured us that the water supply will be restored once the repairs are completed. Additionally, as a precaution, the BMC recommends that residents filter and boil water for 4 to 5 days after the supply is restored to ensure its safety for consumption.

On Thursday, the BMC said water levels in Mumbai's seven reservoirs, which provide the city with drinking water, have reached 95.75%. According to the civic body's data, the collective water stock in Mumbai lakes is currently at 13,85,834 million litres, which is 95.75% of capacity.
