Jorhat, September 5: A 24-year-old final-year MBBS student from Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) died by suicide at his residence in Tarapur on Tuesday night, September 3. He was found hanging at his home. The police recovered suicide notes from his room in which he asked for forgiveness from his mother. A probe has been launched into the suicide case.

According to a report published by the , the student, who was pursuing his MBBS, reportedly hanged himself around 10 pm. Police arrived at the scene approximately half an hour later.
