The arrested accused has been identified as Ansar Sheikh (35). This led to a dispute which soon escalated into a verbal argument. An enraged Shaikh allegedly entered the ticket counter and beat Patil till she fell unconscious. Kande and his team rushed to the spot, searched the Kalyan station, and nabbed Shaikh. After the incident, ticket clerks at Kalyan railway station staged a protest and closed the booking counter for an hour as they demanded security in the ticket counter area.
